My Rating:

Since a horrible accident claimed the lives of her family, sixteen-year-old Ever can see auras, hear people’s thoughts, and know a person’s life story by touch. Going out of her way to shield herself from human contact to suppress her abilities has branded her as a freak at her new high school—but everything changes when she meets Damen Auguste… Ever sees Damen and feels an instant recognition. He is gorgeous, exotic and wealthy, and he holds many secrets. Damen is able to make things appear and disappear, he always seems to know what she’s thinking—and he’s the only one who can silence the noise and the random energy in her head. She doesn’t know who he really is—or what he is. Damen equal parts light and darkness, and he belongs to an enchanted new world where no one ever die. -Summary from goodreads.com
This book is a simple and entertaining read! In it we follow 16-year-old Ever who, after a near death experience in a car crash, which killed the rest of her family, can
1. See people's auras
2. Hear their thoughts
3. Upon contact w/anyone (a simple touch) she can see their whole life in one of those "flash before your eyes" type of moment.
Since she's bombarded w/constant thoughts & noise daily, she escapes reality w/her ipod music, especially during school. Aside from two other outcasts, she doesn't have any friends so she is quickly labeled as a school freak. That’s when Damen comes into the plot. Being a new student himself, Ever finds herself attracted to Damen because when she's around him, he mysteriously blocks the constant chaos going on in Ever's mind. Also, he has no aura.

It was great to see how Ever & Damen's relationship developed throughout the book. I also really like Ever, she was a down to earth, realistic character that is easy to relate too. She was actually to realistic that I often times wanted to reach in and shake her for making such bad decisions. But not to worry, it turns out there's a reason for it all though (so just keep reading).
