The Garretts are everything the Reeds are not. Loud, messy, affectionate. And every day from her rooftop perch, Samantha Reed wishes she was one of them . . . until one summer evening, Jase Garrett climbs up next to her and changes everything. As the two fall fiercely for each other, stumbling through the awkwardness and awesomeness of first love, Jase's family embraces Samantha - even as she keeps him a secret from her own. Then something unthinkable happens, and the bottom drops out of Samantha's world. She's suddenly faced with an impossible decision. Which perfect family will save her? Or is it time she saved herself? -goodreads.com

Loved this flippin' book. The ending could have been better, it felt rushed in my opinion. And can I just mention, I HATED the mom from page one! Grrr! That is all...

When a strange boy tumbles down a river embankment and lands at her feet, seventeen-year-old adrenaline junkie Deznee Cross snatches the opportunity to piss off her father by bringing the mysterious hottie with ice blue eyes home. Except there’s something off with Kale. He wears her shoes in the shower, is overly fascinated with things like DVDs and vases, and acts like she’ll turn to dust if he touches her. It’s not until Dez’s father shows up, wielding a gun and knowing more about Kale than he should, that Dez realizes there’s more to this boy—and her father’s “law firm”—than she realized.

Kale has been a prisoner of Denazen Corporation—an organization devoted to collecting “special” kids known as Sixes and using them as weapons—his entire life. And, oh yeah, his touch? It kills. The two team up with a group of rogue Sixes hellbent on taking down Denazen before they’re caught and her father discovers the biggest secret of all. A secret Dez has spent her life keeping safe. A secret Kale will kill to protect. -summary from goodreads.com

Dez is probably one of the most kick butt heroines I have read about this year! I LOVED Kale.... so cute and innocent :) he literally made me laugh out loud. People at work probably think I'm a random laughing freak! His new found knowledge about our way of living actually made me appreciate the little things in my life, like shoes :)haha! The way he wears shoes in the shower, Haaaaaa!

The plot was super crazy! Big twist that I was not expecting. Dez's father; OMG! I wanted to strangle the man! I loved the whole idea of sixes, kinda reminded me of I am Number Four. Can't wait to pick up the next book and see what happens next.

My only complaint; in all honest I felt that Dez fell for Kale a little too fast, for my taste. She was way too trusting and she didn't even know him all that well. He could have been some psycho killer, and this girl is letting him into her house! Don't get me wrong, I'm usually all for falling for the cute mysterious boy, BUT not running away with him.... You know what I mean? But then again.... With the way Kale is described (especially if he was shirtless), I don't think any one of us would dare kick him out.... So I guess you can say Dez's actions are justified, haha.

Spring Cleaning Giveaway... Sort of!

Hi guysssssss *waves*

So, I've been away from the book blogging community for too long. Student Teaching has been kicking my ass and I haven't been in the mood for anything lately. I just recently found out that Lauren Oliver's, Delirium, is going to be made into a TV Show?

*OMG! Please excuse me while I run outside to scream my lungs out in ecstasy!*

How flippin' amazing is that? Cannot wait! Love Alex! Whoever they cast for his character, I call dibs on him NOW!

Anywayyyy.... back to the blog post.

Last night ago I went on a massive book buying spree.... We're talking all of last months paycheck, massive.... but I felt good! The problem came afterwards.... I quickly thought to myself,

"Where the hell am I going to put these books?"

Sooooo, after tweeting about it and getting some feedback (thanks, Kelly!), I decided it'd be best to do a giveaway and clear up some room on my bookshelves :) This way, not only will I get a bit more traffic onto the blog, but I'll also be motivated to get back into the rhythm of things (more posts, reply to comments, keep things UPDATED!, etc.)and thus keep my little blog alive!!!!

So,

WELCOME to my
Semi-spring cleaning/Make room on bookshelf
giveaway!

Yay! *throws confetti in the air*
:D

It's Monday...

Another day, another $... hahaha. Jk! I'm at home while I type this ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

BUT, All jokes aside... Thanks to the awesome Ash (Aka SMASH) over at Smash Attack Reads, I have now FINALLY started Delirium by Lauren Oliver.
Ash was my secret Santa last year and she got me a copy of this
(so far) awesome book. I feel like I am the LAST person on Earth to read Delirium, but better late then never (I always say....)

About the book:
THEY SAY that the cure for Love will make me happy and safe forever. And I've always believed them. Until now. Now everything has changed. Now, I'd rather be infected with love for the tiniest sliver of a second than live a hundred years smothered by a lie.

In My Mailbox #12

First IMM post of the year, hooray! Haven't had much time for reviewing, but I have been reading a ton lately. I had some xmas gift cards left over so I decided to take a quick trip down to my local B&N. I love that place.... So relaxing.
Picked up a copy of:
Masque of the Red Death by Bethany Griffin
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
The Lost Code by Kevin Emerson

I'm super excited about all three books, in particular- The Lost Code, it's not very often we get a male YA author. Can't wait to get started! What did you get in your mailbox? Share your link.
